Carrie Coon recently got candid and shared her feelings after being praised by Taylor Swift for her performance on Gilded Age.
For those unaware, the 45-year-old American stage, film, and television actress is playing the role of Bertha Russell in the American historical drama television series created and written by Julian Fellowes for HBO.
Coon illuminated the Wednesday, November 4 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she was shown Swift’s skilled impression of her Gilded Age character, which she did during her 2025 appearance on the show to promote her album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Voicing her appreciation for the Fate of Ophelia crooner’s knack for acting, she said, “It’s very good,” adding that she woke up the morning after the show aired to “thousands of messages” about it.
Coon went on to tell Fallon, “People were like, ‘Can you believe it?’ I have to say, it’s very good, it’s the right affectation, and she’s so Bertha, she’s such an entrepreneur.”
“Bertha would be like Taylor Swift if she were living today,” The White Lotus star remarked.
Carrie Coon also shared her desire for Taylor Swift to make an appearance in the famous drama, saying, “I saw her cameo at the Emmys; she was really great. So, I feel like she’d be an excellent nemesis [for Bertha].”
